You've probably had oatmeal a million times, right? Did you ever know how good it was for you? Next time you make it, read the nutrition facts... I'm not talking about the instant stuff, but the classic oats, water, and milk if you wish. It's really easy and fast to make, and super good-for-you. The oats are good for your heart, by adding a quarter cup of walnuts, you can add 2.3 grams of Omega 3s. Then of course raisins are a serving of fruit, right? And milk and oats contain protein! This is a great meal!
1/2 cup oats
1 cup water
Splash of milk (optional)
1/4 raisins (optional)
1/4 cup walnuts (optional)
2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
1. Stir the oats and water together in a microwaveable bowl. Place in the microwave for 2 minutes.
2. Top with milk, raisins, walnuts, and brown sugar, if desired. That's it!
This recipe is vegan if milk is not used.
